Can Smoking Affect Your Dental Health?

We've mentioned time and again how tobacco products can be a major cause of bad breath, but really, that’s only the beginning of the running list of effects of Tobacco on your oral health.

Smoking increases your risk of having 


1. Stained teeth and tongue

2. Dulled sense of taste and smell

3. Slow healing after a tooth extraction or other surgery

4. Difficulties in correcting cosmetic dental problems

5. Gum disease

6. Oral cancer



Quitting is the only way to decrease your risk of these and other tobacco-related health problems. Talk to your dentist to see if there are medications that can help you on your journey to quitting.
